Psychotherapist & owner

Hi, I’m Emily.

I started my therapy practice in 2018 to fill the gaps I saw in traditional eating disorder treatment. While eating disorders remain an important part of my work, I have expanded my clinical focus on complex trauma, sexuality, and identity exploration. I enjoy helping people have better relationships (familial, romantic, friendships) and to understand themselves more fully.

My specialties reflect how I like to work: with curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives. I enjoy supporting clients as they untangle how their past experiences, their bodies, and their identities shape the present. Clients often describe me as easy to talk to, compassionate, and able to make meaningful connections between past and present.

I identify as a proud queer woman. Growing up, I didn't see my identity so positively, but now I understand that it has enabled me to challenge the status quo and offer a different perspective in the therapy room.

I especially enjoy working with people from all walks of life — from trades and small business owners here in Northeast Philadelphia to students and professionals — who want a grounded, straightforward approach to therapy. Together, we might explore themes like:

  • finding and maintaining close relationships

  • setting boundaries with confidence

  • building trust and self-worth

  • breaking free from repeating patterns

  • clarifying what you really want and need

I’ve worked in inpatient hospitals, outpatient services, intensive outpatient programs, and community mental health before opening my own practice in Philadelphia. I hold a master’s in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University, where I also taught undergraduate psychology for four years. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania.
